The Role

Having recently relocated to a brand-new Head Office in Doxford International Business Park, we are delighted to be able to collocate our technology and business teams under one modern roof. We are passionate about people and collaboration; therefore, this role is office based with ad hoc flexibility as required.

Reporting directly to the Head of Digital Product & Design with a dotted line into Marketing, you will contribute to the development and delivery of Fairstone’s public facing marketing websites. As an experienced web developer, you will be 100% hands-on and work hand in glove with the Digital Marketing Manager and Product Manager.

Key responsibilities

  • Transform Fairstone’s current public facing websites.
  • Implement Fairstone’s search engine optimisation (SEO) strategy as defined by the Digital Marketing Manager with the goal of increasing web traffic and new client conversion to achieve ambitious growth targets.
  • Support the marketing team to improve search engine optimisation (SEO), increase web traffic and new client conversion on the current public facing websites.
  • Support the marketing team to optimise web pages for maximum speed, scalability and SEO.
  • Use React.JS, CSS, and HTML to develop visually impressive page designs created in Figma – having a keen eye for detail is critical.
  • Ensure all web pages are developed using ‘Responsive’ web design principles to ensure everything is ‘mobile optimised’.
  • Optimise web pages for maximum speed, scalability and SEO.
  • Utilise ‘Low Code’ web development and CMS platforms such as WebFlow or Framer to increase turnaround times of development and marketing campaigns.
  • Contributing to product team delivery of brownfield and greenfield change initiatives.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement and innovation initiatives.
  • Contributing to, and following, software development best practices.
  • Coaching and mentoring junior members of staff.
  • Taking ownership of delivery of work assigned.

  • Contributing to regular Scrum ceremonies.
  • Embedding software development best practices across the team.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with other IT teams.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement and innovation initiatives.
  • Involvement in solution design work.

 

  • Highly motivated individual with a passion for continuous improvement
  • Collaborative in nature and enjoys working with others, both in the office and with remote teams
  • Enjoys coaching and mentoring more junior members of the team
  • Shows initiative and can make pragmatic decisions
  • Have a strong passion for software engineering and other technology domains
  • Enjoys autonomy and is willing to take ownership of initiatives from inception to completion

 

Essential

  • Demonstrable SEO experience
  • Web development technologies inc React.JS, Javascript, CSS, and HTML
  • Willingness to quickly learn Webflow or Framer if no current experience in those technologies
  • CI/CD technologies and principles inc. Azure DevOps and Git
  • Software engineering standards and best practices
  • Software and application architecture
  • Testing frameworks and best practices
  • TDD and BDD preferable
  • Microsoft Azure inc. App Services, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Azure AD,
  • Agile delivery (SCRUM, Kanban)

 

Desirable

  • React Native
  • Figma
  • SQL, SSIS, VB.NET (preferable)
  • NET MVC

  • C#, .net core, ASP.NET core
