The Role

Having recently relocated to a brand-new Head Office in Doxford International Business Park, we are delighted to be able to collocate our technology and business teams under one modern roof. We are passionate about people and collaboration; therefore, this role is office based with ad hoc flexibility as required.

Fairstone is embarking on an exciting journey of growth and transformation, which has enabled us to create this a new junior digital product owner role. Drawing upon your own expert experience of working with business leaders and technical engineers to create first-class digital products, you will be at the forefront of our digital ambition to be the whole-of-market sector leader.

Responsibilities

Technical

 

  • Creation of user stories in a detailed yet clear enough way that developers and testers whose first language might not be English can read without room for misinterpretation.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced team that seeks to over-deliver.
  • Partner with stakeholders to establish and iterate product vision, roadmap and backlog.
  • Lead and matrix manage technical delivery resources to deliver agile strategic change, small change and BAU.
  • Always demonstrate client advocacy from within the technology design and development teams.
  • Champion the phased introduction of industry standard and tailored agile and product management methodologies.
  • Work within a high performing team that will house all future technology aligned business analysts and product owners.
  • Work collaboratively with near/offshore partner model to augment the existing team.

 

  • Highly motivated individual with a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborative in nature and enjoys working with others, both in the office and with remote teams.
  • Enjoys coaching and mentoring more junior members of the team.
  • Shows initiative and can make pragmatic decisions.
  • Have a strong passion for software engineering and other technology domains.
  • Enjoys autonomy and is willing to take ownership of initiatives from inception to completion.

 

Essential

  • Demonstrable understanding of agile and scrum.
  • Experience working in a scrum/product team as product owner or business analyst is essential.
  • Experience turning high-level business requirements in epic or feature format into detailed user stories is essential.
  • Computer science degree or equivalent experience.

 

Desirable

  • Certified scrum product owner.
  • UI/UX certification.
  • Desirable certifications also include PRINCE2, SAFe Agilist and ITIL.
