Fairstone Group, incorporating one of the largest Chartered Financial Planning firms in the UK, has entered into a downstream buyout agreement with McParland and Partners Ltd in a transaction which sees them take an initial minority stake in the business. The company is based in Nelson, Lancashire and operates satellite offices in Manchester and Sheffield, offering high quality financial planning for SMEs and high net worth individuals. Fairstone Group, incorporating one of the largest Chartered Financial Planning firms in the UK, has entered into an agreement with First Financial Management (NI) Ltd under its downstream buyout model. The company, based in Lisburn, Country Antrim, has been renamed Fairstone NI. Taking place over a number of years, the deal will allow Fairstone NI to integrate with the Group’s state of the art systems and infrastructure and will allow a seamless transition for clients. Private equity Synova Capital has taken a £25m investment in IFA consolidator Fairstone Group. The deal means that Synova becomes the lead investor in Fairstone and could make further cash available in the future. The injection also means a realisation by several early stage shareholders in Fairstone all of whom, said the IFA in a statement, have received substantial returns on their primary investments.
